I have found that top producers and leading real estate entrepreneurs share the same daily habits. They are constantly having the same conversations with themselves.
There are so many things that go into running a successful real estate business, but there are certain things you should be focusing on every day that will help increase productivity. Here are three vital ones:
- Educate yourself. The most successful people I know in real estate and business are constant learners. They are absorbing as much information as possible that will help them excel. However, many real estate agents limit their education intake to real estate-related topics. As a real estate entrepreneur, you should be reading books, blogs, watching Webinars and listening to podcasts on additional subject matters, such as entrepreneurship, marketing/advertising and anything that will help you be a better salesperson (learn how to close the deal).
- Review your strategy. Success does not happen by accident. It takes careful planning and strategy, even on a daily basis. You should be reviewing and reminding yourself of your goals each day. Also, spend time reflecting on recent accomplishments and what has recently worked and what has not. Answer the question of why to each one. You’ll be amazed how much you’ll learn about yourself, your business and what you need to do to develop and even more successful business strategy. Also, set your strategies and goals at the beginning of each day for that specific day.
- Look at the money. Successful business owners can account for every dollar. They know where the money is coming from and where it is going. Each day you should review and update your budget and pipeline. The best way to start is by reviewing what you spend each day at the end of that day. Having a clear grasp of your finances is the only way to build a success strategy.
I maintain that the most successful agents are the ones who understand they are running a legitimate business and approach their business with an entrepreneurial mindset. The true entrepreneur is always in constant strategy and learning mode. The above focuses are a great start to this new mindset.
