We all know the importance of staying top of mind with our sphere of influence, past and present clients. This is the only way to ensure that they refer you to their family and friends when the topic of real estate comes up.
With Memorial Day just around the corner there are several ways you can achieve this objective. Here are three creative top of mind events for the Memorial Day weekend:
- Flag installation. We often share the same sense of patriotism with our sphere of influence (SOI). Yet, many don’t have time or just not handy enough to install an American flag in front of their homes. This is your chance to help them show their love for their country. Partner with a handyman to install flags to those who are interested. Send an email to your SOI (include past clients) offering to install flags for them. You should be able to get a great deal from your handyman since they will be able to market their own business.
- Host a day at the park. This is a great opportunity to introduce your neighbors to your real estate business. Partner with your HOA and reserve a park or greenbelt area for your event. Rent bouncy houses, offer food and drinks, and include other activities that are fun for families. This event comes with a price tag, so make sure to partner with your favorite lender, title rep, home warranty rep, etc. Have them share in the costs. Once you have all the details, invite the neighbors (don’t forget to invite your SOI). Make sure you have a grab bag to include your marketing materials. Consider a raffle to ensure you can collect names, phone numbers and emails from those who attend.
- Pop by with a picnic basket. This is a great way to stay top of mind with your SOI. Prepare a special Memorial Day picnic basket to pop by and deliver to those who are most likely to refer you business. Include hot dogs, ketchup, mustard, chips, paper plates, utensils, cookies, etc. You may also want to include a store gift card for ice. Again, consider having your favorite vendor participate with you. This is a nice gesture that will go a long way.
Though these activities cost money, it’s a lot cheaper than the cost of acquiring new business through other marketing mediums. They best way to increase business is through referrals from family and friends. However, you must stay top of mind.
